Two country music focused TV holiday specials were announced on Tuesday (October 8). First up is the NBC holiday broadcast, Christmas at the Opry, which will be hosted by Little Big Town and feature performances by Dan + Shay, Kelsea Ballerini, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban, Kirk Franklin, Orville Peck, and Kate Hudson. The program features unique duets and special collaborations on Christmas favorites and holiday classics in front of a live audience at Nashville’s legendary Grand Ole Opry. Little Big Town’s Christmas at the Opry airs on NBC on December 16 at 8 p.m. ET, and streams on Peacock the following day.
Another country holiday TV special is set for CBS, as Keith Urban is set to headline and co-host New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, which will air on the network on December 31 starting at 8 p.m. ET. Urban joins previously announced performers Kane Brown and Jelly Roll, along with his fellow co-host, Entertainment Tonight‘s Rachel Smith. The New Year’s Eve festivities will take place at Nashville’s picturesque Bicentennial Capitol Mall. (Deadline)
